Summer 2017 study abroad - scholarships and opportunities in Ethiopia, Indonesia, the UK and Korea!
In addition to the $1200 study abroad voucher (for all undergraduates) and the additional $1800 International Certificate funding (for students completing an International Certificate), there are several other generous study abroad scholarships and interesting funded opportunities available. These include:
- Chatham offers summer scholarship opportunities for experiential learning. See https://www.chatham.edu/academics/international/abroad/scholarships.cfm. Application at https://my.chatham.edu/documents/getfile.cfm?DocID=2149 Scholarship applications are due February 28.
- The Gilman scholarship offers study abroad scholarships for Pell grant recipients. http://www.iie.org/Programs/Gilman-Scholarship-Program#.WJTj4hvafRY Applications for summer 2017, fall 2017 and academic year 2017-18 study abroad are due on March 7.
- Asia Institute/ PACIE scholarship for study in Asia. http://www.asiainstitute.org/en/Scholarships/Scholarships.html Applications are due March 1.
- Fulbright-Hays Group Project Abroad, Ethiopia: Indigenous Wisdom & Culture. This is a funded program - for teachers, education students, and students studying Africa area studies. - Get a head start on the Global Focus Year of Indonesia by applying for the funded summer study program offered by the US-Indonesia Society. Applications are due March 31. http://www.usindo.org/grants-fellowships/summer-language-study/
- The Fulbright UK summer institutes are accepting applications for funded opportunities throughout the UK until February 23 or 26 depending on location. http://www.fulbright.org.uk/fulbright-awards/exchanges-to-the-uk/undergraduates
- The Bahrom International Program (BIP) at Seoul Women’s University in Seoul, South Korea. Program dates are June 26-July 21, 2017. This is a 3 credit program focusing on Korean language and culture. Chatham students pay an application fee of $300, airfare, and incidental costs. Applications are available through internationalaffairs@chatham.edu and are due April 15.
